How the company started
My name is Colin, and I run ATX-RELO out of Pflugerville. I spent years working for other moving companies before deciding the standard could be higher without the price getting out of hand.
The name ATX-RELO reflects what we actually do, help households relocate around the Austin metro without the drama that usually comes with move day.
How crews are trained
New movers spend their first days in the warehouse learning to pad furniture, build a tight load, and handle a dolly on a ramp before they ever step into a customer's home.
Packers train separately on dish packs, wardrobe boxes, and electronics, and they practice on our own materials first.
Drivers train on securing a load for a longer haul, since a truck that rides smoothly through Pflugerville can still shift badly on a run down to San Antonio.
What we believe about the job
A move is one of the more stressful days in a person's year, and a crew that treats it casually makes that worse. We treat every walk through as if it were our own house being packed up.
That means honest estimates, no surprise charges added at the truck, and a straight answer if something is not going to fit through a doorway before we try it.
Working in the Texas heat
Our crews are used to summer, but nobody pretends it is easy. Water sits on every truck, breaks are scheduled rather than skipped, and the heaviest lifting happens in the early hours whenever the job allows it.
That is as much about protecting your belongings as it is about protecting the people carrying them. A tired mover makes mistakes.
Where we work
Most weeks the crews cover Pflugerville, Round Rock, Hutto, Manor, Georgetown, and the northeast side of Austin, with longer runs out to the rest of Texas when a family is relocating further.
What a first conversation looks like
When someone calls or messages about a move, we ask about the home, the timeline, and anything unusual before talking numbers. That order matters, because a quote built without knowing about the piano or the third floor walk up is not a real quote.
We would rather spend ten extra minutes on the front end asking questions than surprise a customer with a different number on move day.
